01The challenge

  • Reaching people responsible for market, product, and growth decisions without diluting spend across overly broad business audiences
  • Explaining an emerging category — a connected market-intelligence workflow, not just another AI tool
  • Limited conversion history in an early-stage account made platform optimization harder
  • The supplied reporting showed zero tracked conversions, leaving no way yet to connect efficient clicks to downstream outcomes

02Objective

  • Build awareness among founders, operators, product leaders, and growth professionals
  • Generate qualified website traffic likely to understand structured market intelligence
  • Test which problem statements and benefit-led messages create the strongest professional response
  • Establish a measurable foundation for future trial, signup, and retargeting campaigns

03Strategy

Rather than broad business targeting, the audience was segmented by role — founders/executives, product & strategy, growth & marketing, and startup/SaaS operators — each with its own pain point and message direction. Positioning led with decisions and outcomes rather than "AI" as a standalone feature, on the view that audience precision mattered more than raw reach for a still-emerging category.

Campaign Structure

  • Awareness Layer — introduce the market-intelligence problem to relevant professional audiences
  • Website Conversion Layer — move interested users toward product exploration or a free trial once the value was understood

Creative testing covered five angles: time/focus, workflow clarity (Find → Score → Act → Track), decision confidence, lean-team leverage, and product discovery — all static, workflow-first graphics built for fast comprehension.

04Execution

Measurement combined the LinkedIn Insight Tag, campaign-specific UTMs, and website analytics against clearly defined conversion events (signup, trial, demo, qualified lead). Implementation moved through five phases — foundation, launch, optimize, convert, scale — concentrating spend on stronger audience/message combinations before any budget increase.

05Results

Across two campaigns, LinkedIn generated 9,765 impressions and 225 clicks from $74.50 in spend — a 2.30% CTR at a $0.33 average CPC and $7.63 CPM. No conversions were reported in the supplied summary.

  • A 2.30% CTR is strong evidence the audience and message were professionally relevant
  • $0.33 CPC made this an efficient way to learn which audiences and messages deserve deeper funnel investment
  • Zero tracked conversions means the channel can't yet be presented as a lead-generation result — it's a validated top-of-funnel channel, not a proven acquisition one

Key Learnings

  • Founder/product/growth/operator messaging outperformed a finance-investor framing
  • The biggest open opportunity isn't more reach — it's converting existing interest into measurable product actions
  • Budget expansion should follow validated conversion tracking and landing-page analysis, not precede it

Next Growth Priorities

  • Audit the Insight Tag and confirm one primary signup/trial/demo event
  • Match the landing page headline and workflow explanation to the winning ad promise
  • Build retargeting audiences from visitors, ad engagers, and video viewers
  • Test native Lead Gen Forms and expand to lookalikes only once conversion quality is proven
